Yes: there is a dedicated laptop compartment inside. The bag measures 38 × 30 × 9 cm, so a compact laptop slides in flat with room left for a notebook and a charger. It was thought for students first, and it shows.
What fits inside 10 L?+
A full day. The 10 L main compartment carries your layers and your lunch, while the interior zipper pocket, slip pocket and cell phone pocket keep the small stuff from sinking to the bottom. Everything stays within reach, which is the whole point of a letter carrier's bag.
Is it a men's or a women's bag?+
Neither and both: it is unisex. The cut comes from the old letter carriers' bags, and that line works the same on everyone. Students take it to class, others take it to work or on the road.
Is the leather waterproof?+
The material is water-resistant, not waterproof. It can withstand light rain and splashes, but avoid heavy or prolonged rain and immersion. Protect electronics separately, wipe off moisture and let the bag dry naturally away from direct heat.
How does the bag close, and is it secure?+
A hasp closure holds the front shut: one clean gesture to open, one to lock it back. Inside, the zipper pocket takes whatever you would rather not see fall out on the pavement: keys, cards, papers.
What is the Itaka not made for?+
Heavy hauls. It weighs 1.3 kg before you pack it: honest full-grain leather, not featherweight nylon.
