What actually happens
A flat box, a manual, and a few good evenings.
No workshop, no power tools, no 3D printer. The parts arrive pre-cut and numbered. You supply patience and a clear table.
Step 01
It arrives flat
Sheets of laser-cut plywood or etched metal, flat-packed with the manual. Every part is numbered, so you can find #143 when the manual asks for it.
Step 02
You build it
Parts pop out by hand and go together by illustration, not walls of text. Glue, sandpaper and tweezers are in the box on the kits that need them.
Step 03
You switch it on
Kits marked "lights up" include a USB light strip and cable. Slide the finished build onto a shelf and it stops looking like a kit.
