Cool and Functional

I really like this backpack! I got the Light Grey, and it's a little darker and more purple-toned than I was expecting, but that could just be because of the waxing. I like the spacious pockets and the magnetic clasps feel really sturdy. The hardware in general is gorgeous. My favourite part is the hidden pocket on the strap side, for your phone or wallet. It's accessible without being obvious. The only surprise to me was that the zippered internal pocket is on the opposite side as what's shown - rather than against your back, it's on the same side as the pen pockets. So far it hasn't caused me any problems, but it was unexpected compared to the product photos.

Thanks for a great bag!! Looking forward to using it for many years.

More than I expected

I decided to buy a backpack from Eiken since my old Bluboon backpack fell aparat during years of rain, snow, college and highschool using. I picked the green one that I found attractive, not thinking much about it. When it arrived to my address I was just delighted how lovely it looked and how much space it contained. This backpack could take all my favorite books from Dostoyevski, Larsson and all other literar theory books that I oftenly use for my studies. Honestly, this backpack was worth the price, and actually It was way cheaper than other backpacks offered by other firms and sellers. I highly recommend it. Best regards from Adriatic :)

Awesome bag and perfect service!

I love this bag! The quality of the fabric and leather are great, it has lots of room even without the pockets on the sides. It even fits my 17 inch laptop!

There were some color issues with the bag but Leo from customer service handled it really well! He was really helpful and quick in his response. If this bag ever wears out I will definitely buy again here. Recommending to friends and family! Thank you Eiken Shop and Leo!

Is Latvia practical for everyday use?

Yes, particularly if a compact daypack often feels too small. Latvia has room for work or study equipment alongside a jacket, lunch, books, headphones and other daily essentials. Bear in mind that its 1.3 kg construction feels more substantial than a lightweight nylon commuter bag.

Is Latvia larger than Dublin or Calgary?

Yes. Latvia has a 27 L capacity, compared with 18 L for Dublin and 16 L for Calgary. The extra space is useful for carrying additional clothing, books, tech accessories or a compact overnight setup.

Does Latvia have a laptop compartment?

Yes. The interior includes a dedicated padded laptop section. Because laptop dimensions vary even between devices with the same screen size, compare your computer measurements with the backpack’s overall dimensions of 45 × 40 × 15 cm before ordering.

Is the backpack waterproof?

The material is water-resistant, not waterproof. It can withstand light rain and splashes, but avoid heavy or prolonged rain and immersion. Protect electronics separately, wipe off moisture and let the bag dry naturally away from direct heat.

Can Latvia be used for hiking?

Latvia works for countryside walks, relaxed day trips and light outdoor use. It is not designed as a technical hiking backpack, however, and does not offer the ventilation, waist support or load-adjustment features normally found on dedicated trekking equipment. For a more hiking-inspired canvas model, consider Uppsala.
